The event is organised by COGES, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the French Land and Airland Defence and Security Industries Association, GICAT. The trade show will have about 1600 exhibitors from 60 countries displaying the latest technological developments in defence and security. It will include many life-size presentations of equipment and weapons systems at stands and in the live demonstration areas. The ever-growing unmanned sector is sure to have a larger presence than ever at the show, with many companies displaying their UGV and UAV products. The conferences running alongside the show will feature many topics of interest to the unmanned systems engineer. Recently announced are sessions under the heading of Robotics in Combat in the Land Operations Forum that will look at the use of automated systems in the military environment. The conferences will be held by the technical section of the French Army (Section Technique de l’Armée de Terre, or STAT) and the Doctrine and Teaching of Command Centre (Centre de Doctrine et d’Enseignement du Commandement, or CDEC). A separate conference held by the Light Aviation Command of the French Army (Commandement de l’Aviation Légère de l’Armée de Terre, or ALAT) and the Artillery College will look at anti-UAV technology. The growth in UAV use has made the fight against them a priority for armies, to preserve their units deployed in operations and protect sensitive facilities. Industry Eurosatory
