16 The Rio Hotel in Las Vegas will welcome InterDrone once again this year from September 5-7 for its annual conference and expo. The show aims to bring UAV pilots and buyers together to connect with other pilots, service providers, UAS engineers and developers, UAV manufacturers, videographers and enterprise UAV end- users. The organisers are expecting 3500 UAV professionals from around the world to attend the show and to meet with the 160-plus exhibitors. InterDrone has a comprehensive conference programme along with UAV courses and special events including the InterDrone Film Festival and the International Drone Awards. The speaker selection process, conference and commercial UAV training programmes are directed by a new advisory board, the newest member of which is former FAA Administrator Michael Huerta. The show’s organisers are just finalising this year’s 125 conference sessions, panel discussions and keynotes. Speakers with proposals for 60-minute sessions (or two-part, 120-minute sessions) as well as panellists for predetermined panel topics are now being accepted. The expo will showcase the latest hardware, software and UAV accessories from the manufacturers and innovators. In December 2017 the Spanish government approved new regulations allowing UAVs to fly in urban areas, at night and over crowds. This has spurred a boom for the UAV industry in Spain. ExpoDronica aims to bring the latest technology from the UAV industry to industry professionals and investors, distributors, training schools, maintenance workshops and research centres. Featuring solutions for, among others, precision agriculture, professional photography and video, industrial inspection, maintenance and security, the show is focused on the civil sector. New for 2018 is an area for hybrid UAV models, along with the multi- rotor and fixed-wing zones. As with the previous events there will be a symposium with presentations from keynote speakers and industry experts. The show will also feature a large UAV demonstration area called the FPV Show that will include races, skill tests and freestyling by some of the best UAV pilots in the world. Alongside the trade show and symposium will be indoor and outdoor drone testing zones, as well as racing and networking events.
