The operating temperature of electric machines is therefore limited only by the ferromagnetic properties of the iron components up to 700 C. Alongside the higher temperature operation, the ceramic insulation also has a higher degree of thermal conductivity, so heat generated in the conductors can be dissipated more quickly. This has allowed a higher output power, which compensates for the lower conductivity of the copper used.
