One of the latest developments for small delivery UGVs is detailed in our report on page 48 on the Ottonomy Ottobot, which marks a significant move for the commercial roll-out of these delivery systems. At the same time, grape growers in France are turning to ground-based autonomous spraying systems rather than using airborne vehicles, as we report on page 6. More broadly, the latest developments for UGVs are detailed on page 66. Image sensing systems are vital for these smaller systems, being made in higher volumes with lower costs, and the latest spiking AI technology for such sensors is detailed on page 6. The latest Lidar chips detailed on page 38 are also providing lower power sensing for ground as well as airborne systems. These developments enable much lower power operation, which also provides opportunities for new UAV applications such as counting rice plants (see page 6) where ground-based systems can’t operate.
